Summary

A world split between day and night。 Two sisters who must unite it。 The author of The Bone Witch kicks off an epic YA fantasy duology perfect for fans of Furyborn

Generations of twin goddesses have long ruled Aeon—until one sister’s betrayal split their world in two。 A Great Abyss now divides two realms: one cloaked in eternal night, the other scorched beneath an ever-burning sun。

While one sister rules the frozen fortress of Aranth, her twin rules the sand-locked Golden City—each with a daughter by their side。 Now those young goddesses must set out on separate, equally dangerous journeys in hopes of healing their broken world。 No matter the sacrifice it demands。

Told from four interweaving perspectives, this sweeping epic fantasy packs elemental magic, star-crossed romance, and incredible landscapes into a spectacular adventure with the fierce sisterhood of Frozen and the breakneck action of Mad Max: Fury Road

There was definitely a learning curve with getting into this but it was absolutely worth it。 I don’t think i’ve ever read a book with more than 2 POVS and loved all of them, it was amazing。 Also each of their character arcs was so nice to see, watching them grow, try to forgive themselves and open up。 I feel like a parent!! Bullet list of my thoughts:• I didn’t care much for either romances。 The romance between Odessa and Lan got on my nerves because Lan was waaay over protective。 Then the romance between Haidee and Arjun was at times cringe because they kept calling each other “idiot” but in a romantic tone。 • I was able to keep track of the four perspectives but the last few chapters that were strictly in either Odessa’s view or Haidee’s view I became so confused。 Their inner monologue sound exactly the same, I’m Bullet list of my thoughts:• I didn’t care much for either romances。 The romance between Odessa and Lan got on my nerves because Lan was waaay over protective。 Then the romance between Haidee and Arjun was at times cringe because they kept calling each other “idiot” but in a romantic tone。 • I was able to keep track of the four perspectives but the last few chapters that were strictly in either Odessa’s view or Haidee’s view I became so confused。 Their inner monologue sound exactly the same, I’m not kidding。 They both have a “proper” way of speaking and that’s what made it hard to differentiate the two。 • I really enjoyed how with one of the characters we get to see her slowly become greedy, paranoid, power hungry and all that。 It was very interesting to read her inner monologue as she progressively became callous。 •I don’t know if I was the only one that noticed this, but the directions that the goddesses were traveling did not correlate with the drawn map at the beginning of the book。 I love using the maps when I read a fantasy book but for this book I feel like the artist of the map didn’t fully read the book。 For Haidee and Arjun they kept saying how they were traveling west through the sand sea。 Though, on the map if they actually were traveling west, they were headed to the salt sea and away from the Abyss。 Yea, maybe this is a little tedious critique but it mattered to me。 • I feel like descriptions of the setting while the goddess were traveling were kind of vague。 For example, when the ship Lan and Odessa are traveling on breaks, they are at the lunar lakes and it just different ponds of deep water。 I would’ve enjoyed a little more detailed description。 。。。more

Did I like what I have previously tried to read by Chupeco? No。 Shall I read this just for the chronic illness rep? Yes。

I really loved the way this book was set up, split into two, with no way of knowing which side had the 'true' story, or if there even was a true story! This hooked me right when the second twin was introduced。 I was like, hold up, who is lying, what really happened, tell me now! As the story went on, I began developing all sorts of theories as to what happened, and the end was sooo good! It totally ended on a cliffhanger, but also in a way where I'm too happy to continue because what if they har I really loved the way this book was set up, split into two, with no way of knowing which side had the 'true' story, or if there even was a true story! it was okay。 i wish i could say otherwise but i just felt bizarrely underwhelmed, though i will say whilst reading that i thought i wouldn’t pick up the sequel but i might do so anyway — not enthusiastically so, unfortunately, but because i’m curious enough to wonder how the issued are resolved。 i considered DNF’ing about a third of the way in, as it moved incredibly slowly & i cared really only about haidee and arjun, and sometimes lan, and i think i just sped through the book just to get it do it was okay。 i wish i could say otherwise but i just felt bizarrely underwhelmed, though i will say whilst reading that i thought i wouldn’t pick up the sequel but i might do so anyway — not enthusiastically so, unfortunately, but because i’m curious enough to wonder how the issued are resolved。 i considered DNF’ing about a third of the way in, as it moved incredibly slowly & i cared really only about haidee and arjun, and sometimes lan, and i think i just sped through the book just to get it done。of the main four, i took to odessa the least & i was reminded of katherine in three dark crowns, and rather unfavourably so (in a way that they are my least favourites), and i think this coloured my experience enough that i’m very meh about it。i do have another rin chupeco book waiting in the wings that i’m hoping will get me more excited than this one。 。。。more

Rin Chupeco is one of my favorite authors and continues to amaze me。 While the Bone Witch remains my favorite series by them currently, the Never Tilting World is another wonderful book and I’ll definitely be reading the sequel。 The cast of character is impeccable, the world detailed and imaginative, and the plot pulled me in and refused to let go。 I’ll definitely be picking the second book up soon。

[late post review] read this as part of a small book club I’m in。。 it wasn’t too bad overall, the storyline was interesting enough to follow but I just struggled a little with the characters and the connections they had。 But overall it was interesting and I’m glad I picked this up as part of a read along。

I loved the complexity of the plot, the characters and the narration was great。 I did like Haidee Arjun a lot more, Odessa and Lan, I really did not care about them, there are some thing repetitive about the story and is a little slow a the beginning and fast at end。

At the beginning I had hope for Lan and Odessa, I wanted their relationship to become something real and I hoped Odessa could heal。 But as the book went on Haidee became my favorite, I wanted her to be sole Goddess。 The story kept me hooked, a lot happened but in a good way; it all flowed and made sense。 The only thing I didn’t like was the ending, it’s hard to explain without giving away the ending but I just wasn’t feeling it。

Atmosphere- I ended up reading a good portion of this book mainly because the atmosphere was so good。 The plot I also found interesting but it was mostly the fairy-tale vibe of the story that kept me reading。 At the same time, because the writing felt 'old' to me, it made the very modern dialogue seem sorta weird and out of place。 Action- I had a hard time feeling exited by any of the action scenes。 I'm not sure what it was about them but it all felt quite dull and slow, which made the book pret Atmosphere- I ended up reading a good portion of this book mainly because the atmosphere was so good。 The plot I also found interesting but it was mostly the fairy-tale vibe of the story that kept me reading。 At the same time, because the writing felt 'old' to me, it made the very modern dialogue seem sorta weird and out of place。 Action- I had a hard time feeling exited by any of the action scenes。 I'm not sure what it was about them but it all felt quite dull and slow, which made the book pretty uninteresting over time。 Characters- I did find myself quite liking Arjun specifically, and the romance between him and Haidee was pretty good, but I honestly could not care less about Odessa or her romance。 She was a brat, and I found myself dredding reading her perspective, which was unfortunate because it came up a lot。 。。。more
